The effort they are putting in resembles the frequency and the competition of the RTTs circa 3rd edition.
If you guys remember that far back GW used to sponsor tournaments and offered unique (or at least semi hard to get) trophies and certificates.
That is exactly what these guys are doing. Each winner (and there are 4 or 5 total over various categories) receives a bit of store credit and a trophy of some sort.
If you guys are anywhere within 3 or 4 hours of Atlanta I highly suggest checking out the next event.
